How Our QuikSystem Bucket Became a Natural Fit for SSQA-Compatible Machines
For years, we’ve been building utility buckets for a very specific purpose: helping owners of John Deere garden tractors turn their machines into back-saving property tools.
Our original Little Buck buckets had to strike a balance - strong enough to move real material, but compact enough to work in tight spaces around homes, barns, and outbuildings. We weren’t building for job sites or commercial earthmoving. We were building for driveways, mulch piles, landscaping projects, and weekend work around the property.
The QuikSystem Redesign
When we introduced the QuikSystem, we took the opportunity to redesign our bucket.
We made it beefier than our original, reinforcing key wear points and increasing overall durability to better match the expanded capabilities that come with a quick attach-style system.
And somewhere in that redesign process, something started to stand out.
This new bucket wasn’t oversized like many skid steer buckets, but it also wasn’t limited in the way our original garden tractor bucket needed to be.
It sat right in the middle.
Strong enough for serious work…Compact enough for residential projects.
That’s when the realization hit: This size is the sweet spot for most homeowners.
Bridging to SSQA-Compatible Machines
At the same time, we were hearing from more and more compact equipment owners, especially folks running SSQA-compatible machines with universal quick attach mounting plates, who were finding standard skid steer buckets to be unnecessarily wide and heavy for property work.
Most weren’t:
Digging foundations
Loading dump trucks
Running commercial sites
They were:
Refreshing landscaping
Moving firewood
Spreading gravel
Clearing snow
Tackling weekend property projects
And the more we compared use cases, the more it became clear:
The redesigned QuikSystem bucket was already sized for the kind of work most owners of SSQA-compatible compact equipment are actually doing.
So instead of designing something entirely new, we adapted that proven, mid-sized bucket format to mount to the industry-standard universal quick attach plate.
Validating the Fit
We later had the chance to visit Atlas Bobcat to validate what we suspected, that our adapted utility bucket and snow pusher would pair up cleanly with a Bobcat-style universal mounting system.
That means SSQA-compatible machines like:
Bobcat Company skid steers
Kubota BX tractors equipped with quick attach
Other compact loaders and tractors with universal mounting plates
can now make use of a smaller-format bucket designed for better visibility and control when working around residential properties.
Utility Bucket + Snow Pusher for SSQA-Compatible Machines
Because our QuikSystem bucket was redesigned with durability in mind, but still sized for residential-scale work, adapting it for compatibility with universal quick attach systems was a natural next step.
Now, owners of SSQA-compatible machines can use:
A right-sized Utility Bucket for year-round material handling
A Snow Pusher for winter snow removal
Both designed with the same philosophy we’ve used from the beginning:
Build for real work, just not oversized work.
Sometimes the right tool isn’t the biggest one, it’s the one sized for the kind of work you’re actually doing.
And as it turns out, that same “right-sized” approach works just as well on SSQA-compatible machines too.
